Museo Guggenheim, Bilbao<\/p>\n <\/p>\n En la Exposici\u00f3n La Torre Herida por el Rayo<\/em> se muestran los trabajos de un grupo de artistas que se ha enfrentado a diversos tipos de imposibilidades: la de comprende el sentido \u00faltimo de la vida, la de conocer al individuo que habita dentro de nosotros, la de interpretar el valor de los objetos en los que advertimos sentido religioso, la de recorrer laberintos en los que perderse es la manera de hallarse a s\u00ed mismo (…)<\/p>\n Gabriel D\u00edaz aborda con sus esculturas el establecimiento de una relaci\u00f3n de tensa inquietud entre el cuerpo humano y el peso ingr\u00e1vido de cuerpos p\u00e9treos a su alrededor. Los trabajos que realiza no pretenden ser s\u00f3lo aproximaciones a lo inverosimil y lo imponderable, pues, sobre todo, formalizan construcciones de aire en las que la mirada penetra hasta su interior -en algunas de sus esculturas, la cabeza entera es instada a penetrar en la roca tallada- para desvelar un vac\u00edo sagrado (sepulcral unas veces, uterino otras) y que trasmiten sensaciones tel\u00faricas de agobio, gravedad y presi\u00f3n l\u00edmite, pero tambi\u00e9n una idea de vuelo glorioso y de purificaci\u00f3n o re-nacimienro.<\/p>\n The exhibition The Tower Wounded by ligrning<\/em> features the works of a group of artists who have confronted different kinds of impossibilities: that of understanding life’s ultimate meaning, that of knowing the individual who lives within each of us, that of interpreting the valueof the objetcts in which we recognize religious meaning, that of tracing labyrinths in which getting lost is a means of finding oneself. (…)<\/p>\n In his sculptures, Gabriel D\u00edaz establishes a relation of tense anxiety between the human body and the lightweight of stony bodies around it.
